Israel Kills Terrorist Who Abducted Noa Argamani on October 7
Israeli forces killed Saher Nidal Latfi Sakr in a joint airstrike in central Gaza, according to the IDF. The military said Sakr infiltrated Israel on October 7 and drove the motorcycle used to abduct Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or from the Nova music festival. Argamani was rescued in June 2024, while Or was released in October 2025.
Israeli officials said Sakr, linked to transnational jihadist networks in Gaza, was targeted in a joint operation in the Nuseirat area. According to the IDF, he entered Israel on October 7, 2023, and rode the motorcycle that carried Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or into Gaza. He later allegedly helped Hamas and Islamic Jihad plan attacks, which Israel called a ceasefire violation.
The same announcement said another strike killed Hamas commander Muhammad Hamad Muhammad Gabain, accused of holding multiple hostages. By August 2026, Israel reported more than 2,700 October 7 attackers killed and about 300 detained pending prosecution.
For families of October 7 victims and hostages, confirmation of Sakr’s death could bring a measure of closure, though it may also revive painful memories. In Israel, such operations may reinforce public expectations that perpetrators will be pursued. In Gaza, continued strikes amid a fragile ceasefire could deepen fear and uncertainty among civilians, while potentially complicating negotiations and humanitarian conditions. The wider impact may depend on whether such actions are seen as justice, escalation, or both.
