The Witcher 3 Remastered PS5 Update Weighs 45GB, Launch Timings Confirmed

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 3 Remastered will arrive as a roughly 45GB update to the existing Complete Edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is listed at about 50GB, while PC is also around 45GB. The remaster launches on 29th September 2026, and existing save and Trophy data will carry over.
CD Projekt Red's Marcin Momot shared platform download estimates for the remastered Witcher 3. PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions are each around 45GB, though PC size can shift with language packs. Nintendo Switch 2 is listed near 50GB.
The release is scheduled for 29th September 2026. It arrives as an update to the existing Complete Edition rather than a separate game, so current save files and Trophy progress should remain usable. A new expansion, Songs of the Past, is planned for 2027.
The 45–50GB update could affect players with limited storage or slower connections, especially those juggling multiple September and October releases. Because saves and Trophies carry over, lapsed owners may find it easier to return, potentially extending the game's cultural tail. The 2027 expansion may also keep discussion alive, though the remaster's immediate reach may depend on whether players choose it over newer titles.
