Revada Arts Center Opening Brings Shared Arts Hub to Southwest DC
The Revada Arts Center will open on October 23, 2026, at 340 Maple Drive SW in Washington, DC. Theater Alliance, IN Series, and 4EYE Film Center will co-steward the multidisciplinary venue, which includes a black box theater, cinema, rehearsal studio, scene shop, and community space. The center is intended to support nonprofit arts organizations and serve the broader Southwest community.
The venue is set to debut on Oct. 23, 2026, at 340 Maple Drive SW. Theater Alliance, IN Series, and 4EYE Film Center will jointly run it, with Shanara Gabrielle, Timothy Nelson, and Emily Lenzner leading their respective organizations. The building will contain a black box theater, cinema, micro-proscenium, rehearsal studio, scene shop, and co-working/community area, and it will host other resident arts groups.
A multi-day launch festival begins with a ribbon-cutting and panel. The next day offers family music classes, acting workshops, and creative play from noon to 2 p.m., then an open house until 4 p.m. Partner groups will also present season previews, workshops, and a film sneak peek. The Revada Foundation, a family foundation, supported the project.
The center may give Southwest DC residents closer access to theater, film, and workshops, while offering small nonprofits shared infrastructure that could lower costs. Local artists and audiences might benefit from more collaborative programming and a gathering space. Its success could influence how other cities approach shared cultural facilities, though outcomes will depend on funding, attendance, and community engagement.
