Nvidia’s total contracted value with Anthropic tops $180 billion

Nvidia has reported that its total contracted value with Anthropic has passed $180 billion, reflecting cloud compute deals, equity investments, and infrastructure arrangements. Anthropic’s commitments include a $35 billion compute agreement with Lambda and a $45 billion six-year deal with Nscale. Nvidia is also reportedly negotiating a possible $10 billion anchor investment in Anthropic’s planned IPO.
Nvidia’s disclosed figure exceeds $180 billion and combines compute contracts, equity stakes, and infrastructure commitments involving several intermediaries. Anthropic’s known obligations include about $35 billion with Lambda for roughly 350 megawatts in Texas and a six-year, $45 billion Nscale deal for about 460 megawatts in West Virginia.
Before further arrangements, those commitments total near $175 billion. Nvidia previously pledged up to $10 billion to Anthropic, alongside Microsoft’s $5 billion commitment and Anthropic’s $30 billion Azure plan. Nvidia is also reportedly discussing an IPO anchor investment of up to $10 billion.
The scale of these deals may deepen reliance on a few chip and cloud suppliers, affecting AI developers, investors, and data-center host communities. If AI demand slows, concentrated financial exposure could ripple through markets and infrastructure planning. Conversely, sustained spending could accelerate AI tools and energy demand, raising questions about affordability, grid capacity, and who benefits.
