TICKEY Turns Digital Photos Into a Clip-On Color E-Paper Display

TICKEY is a 3.7-inch color e-paper display housed in a 3.8mm aluminum shell that can clip onto bags or stand on a desk. It uses a Modos driver to show more than 48 colors with refresh times of 13 seconds or a faster 3-second mode, and runs on an ESP32-S3 chip with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. A companion app and open firmware allow wireless updates, shared templates, and custom uses such as badges or rotating art.
TICKEY pairs a 3.7-inch color e-paper screen with a 3.8 mm aluminum body. Its Modos driver supports over 48 colors, offering a 13-second full refresh or a quicker 3-second option. An ESP32-S3 chip adds Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, while a phone app and open firmware enable wireless edits and shared templates.
At 45 grams, it can clip to a bag, stand upright, hang from a lanyard, or attach magnetically to a fridge. The display avoids video and animation, draws power only when changing, and remains readable in direct sunlight. Designer ENIAC (Enilinx) lists it as in production for 2026.
TICKEY may appeal to people who want photos or information visible without waking a phone, including conference attendees, desk workers, and makers. Its clip-on, low-power format could make event badges and shared templates more adaptable, while open firmware may invite custom uses. If such devices become common, they might subtly shift some everyday displays away from glowing screens toward static, glanceable objects, though their niche appeal and slow refresh could limit broader adoption.
