Serbian Capital's Mayor Refutes Assault Claims Following Street Confrontation with Opposition Figure

Belgrade Mayor Aleksandar Sapic denied allegations that he assaulted opposition councillor Tatjana Micic, claiming he only defended himself against her husband during a street encounter near his home. Micic's Kreni-Promeni movement stated that she sustained a broken nose and jaw during the altercation, which reportedly occurred after Sapic confronted her about organizing protests at his residence. Sapic maintained that he condemned all forms of violence and acted appropriately in self-defense against verbal attacks from both the councillor and her husband.
