Horror Filmmaker Curry Barker Announces May 2027 Release for Ghost-Hunting Comedy

Curry Barker's follow-up to his record-breaking horror film Obsession, titled Anything But Ghosts, will arrive in theaters on May 7, 2027, distributed by Focus Features and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster. The film stars Barker and Cooper Tomlinson as amateur ghost hunters who become entangled in escalating chaos, alongside Violet McGraw, Chris Reinacher, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Aaron Paul. Barker describes the project as a buddy comedy that maintains horror elements while deliberately differing from his previous success.

Barker's previous film achieved remarkable commercial success, generating over half a billion dollars globally despite its minimal production costs, establishing it as a landmark achievement for its distributor. The timing of the new film's release in May suggests the studio intends to capitalize on the same theatrical window that benefited the earlier project.
