Indian Edtech Startup Arivihan Secures $10 Million Series A to Expand Across Regional Markets

Arivihan, a Bangalore-based educational technology company, completed a $10 million Series A funding round led by Accel and Prosus Ventures, bringing total capital raised to over $15 million and valuing the company at approximately $60 million. The startup plans to use the funding to expand into underserved markets across Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Bihar while building vernacular language capabilities and enhancing its AI-driven learning features. Founded in 2022, the company serves students preparing for state board and national entrance exams with an AI-based platform focused on tier 2 and tier 3 cities, where approximately 80 percent of its subscriber base originates.
Arivihan's funding round represents a significant validation of its business model targeting India's underserved educational markets. The startup has demonstrated exceptional growth momentum, with revenue increasing nearly fifteenfold in the fiscal year ending March 2025, though profitability remains a challenge as the company posted substantial losses during the same period. This funding injection enables the company to deepen its presence in four economically important states while developing language-specific learning content.
The platform's focus on AI-driven personalized learning without live instructors addresses a critical gap in regions where quality tutoring infrastructure remains limited. With roughly four-fifths of its user base concentrated in tier 3 cities and rural areas, Arivihan operates at the intersection of educational access and technological innovation, serving student populations preparing for critical board and competitive exams.
This funding could expand educational opportunities for students in India's smaller cities and rural regions, where access to quality exam preparation resources remains constrained. The startup's vernacular language expansion may reduce language barriers for non-English speakers. However, the company's path to profitability remains uncertain despite strong revenue growth, and success will depend on achieving sustainable unit economics while maintaining affordable pricing for its target demographic. The outcome may influence whether technology-driven edtech models can effectively serve price-sensitive, geographically dispersed student populations at scale.
