Casablanca Celebrates Brazil-Inspired Energy at Paris Fashion Week

Designer Charaf Tajer presented a vibrant Spring 2027 collection infused with the colors, rhythms and landscapes of Brazil at Paris Fashion Week. The collection featured citrus and flag-inspired hues, tropical prints including hibiscus patterns, and relaxed silhouettes like boxy shorts and flowing skirts presented in the signature Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label color palette. Shown at the architecturally striking Espace Niemeyer, the lineup captured the spirit of Ipanema Beach and carnival aesthetics.
Designer Charaf Tajer selected Espace Niemeyer, a landmark structure in Paris's 19th arrondissement designed by renowned Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, as the venue for his presentation. The building's distinctive curved architecture and prominent dome inspired Tajer to transform the interior into a tropical setting complete with palm trees and plants, creating a circular pathway where models displayed the collection. The show marks a significant moment for the designer, who grew up in the nearby Belleville neighborhood and has long admired the architectural space.
The collection's commercial trajectory extends beyond Paris. Casablanca plans to showcase the line during Rio de Janeiro's Carnival season in early 2027, partnering with Alma, a Brazilian events company specializing in carnival productions. This strategic timing and location underscore the designer's commitment to celebrating Brazilian culture authentically while potentially expanding the brand's presence in a key market.
The collection may influence fashion industry conversations about cultural inspiration and destination-driven design. By anchoring a high-fashion presentation to specific Brazilian landscapes and traditions—rather than superficial aesthetic borrowing—the show could shape how luxury brands approach international themes. The planned carnival debut could also demonstrate emerging models of fashion-tourism integration, potentially affecting how designers engage with host countries and local communities beyond traditional runway presentations.
