HPE deploys Wi-Fi 7 network and AI systems to support 2027 Ryder Cup in Ireland

Hewlett Packard Enterprise will provide networking, artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure for the 2027 Ryder Cup tournament in County Limerick, Ireland, expecting over 250,000 attendees and 650 million viewers worldwide. HPE will deploy a self-driving Wi-Fi 7 network across the 230-acre venue that monitors performance in real time and adjusts automatically to prevent disruptions. The company will also operate an expanded Connected Intelligence Centre powered by HPE Private Cloud AI to consolidate data and analytics from across the tournament.
HPE's involvement marks a continuation of its partnership with the Ryder Cup, having previously supplied technology to the 2025 tournament at Bethpage Black. The 2027 event at Adare Manor represents a significant milestone as the competition reaches its centennial year. The deployment encompasses both infrastructure and intelligence layers—the Wi-Fi 7 network provides baseline connectivity across the sprawling venue, while the expanded Connected Intelligence Centre functions as a centralized hub for processing tournament data and enabling real-time decision-making for event organizers.
This deployment could signal broader adoption of autonomous networking and AI-driven operations management across major sporting events and large-scale venues. The integration of self-optimizing networks with centralized intelligence systems may influence how other organizations approach infrastructure resilience and data consolidation. However, the practical impact depends on whether these systems prove reliable under real-world event pressures and whether the efficiencies achieved justify the technological complexity for organizers, attendees, and stakeholders managing security, connectivity, and operational logistics at scale.
