Vivo Unveils X Fold 6 Premium Foldable with MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Chip

Vivo has launched its latest foldable smartphone, the X Fold 6 5G, in India at Rs 2,19,999 with a custom MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super processor. The device features 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 512GB UFS 4.1 storage, a flagship 200MP camera, and larger inner and outer displays compared to its predecessor. The foldable will be available for purchase starting October 13, 2026, in Nebula Teal and Prism Black color variants.
Vivo's latest foldable represents the company's continued investment in the premium smartphone segment, joining established competitors in offering cutting-edge display technology. The device features dual LTPO AMOLED screens with identical refresh rates and brightness capabilities, suggesting Vivo has prioritized consistency across both the folded and unfolded viewing experiences. The integration of MediaTek's latest processor, manufactured using advanced 3-nanometer fabrication, indicates ongoing collaboration between chipmakers and device manufacturers to deliver flagship performance in increasingly compact form factors.
The X Fold 6's positioning at approximately Rs 2.2 lakh may influence purchasing decisions among affluent Indian consumers evaluating premium foldable devices. Early availability and competitive specifications could affect market dynamics in the high-end smartphone category, potentially prompting consumers to compare offerings across manufacturers. Such innovations might gradually normalize foldable technology adoption in emerging markets, though the device's premium pricing likely limits its immediate impact to a niche consumer segment rather than mainstream adoption.
