Star Moles Inks Deal With Dead Oceans, Announces New Single and Tour Dates

Philadelphia-based artist Star Moles has signed to Dead Oceans Records and released "Born Again," a new track produced by Kevin Basko who helmed her previous album Highway to Hell. The label will issue Highway to Hell on vinyl for the first time in December, while Moles has scheduled U.S. headlining shows beginning in January 2027. She will also perform at both Pitchfork Festival London and Pitchfork Festival Paris in November.
Emily Moales, performing under the name Star Moles, has partnered with Dead Oceans Records following the February release of her album Highway to Hell. The new single "Born Again" marks a continuation of her creative relationship with Kevin Basko, who previously produced her album. A music video accompanies the track, filmed in South Philadelphia by director Lucky Marvel.
In her artist statement, Moales describes the song as an emotional work that blends personal authenticity with mythic language. The Dead Oceans deal includes plans to release Highway to Hell on vinyl format for the first time, scheduled for December. Beyond her U.S. tour dates beginning in January 2027, Moales will perform at major European festival programming in London and Paris this November.
Star Moles' label signing and tour announcement could strengthen her presence within indie music circles and potentially expand her audience beyond Philadelphia's local scene. The vinyl reissue may appeal to collectors and longtime listeners, while festival appearances at Pitchfork's international events could increase her visibility among music industry professionals and dedicated fans. Her touring schedule across multiple North American cities throughout early 2027 may build momentum for future album releases and establish her as an emerging artist in contemporary alternative music.
