Spire Hospitality, headquartered in Irving, Texas, has named Nancy Johns senior vice president of commercial strategy. She will guide commercial strategy across its hotels and incorporate artificial intelligence into commercial decisions to improve speed and accuracy.
Johns has over 20 years of hospitality experience. She most recently worked as a marketing executive at JC Resorts, leading strategy for luxury properties including Surf & Sand Resort and Rancho Bernardo Inn. Before that, she spent nearly six years at Crescent Hotels & Resorts as SVP of integrated marketing and digital solutions. She chairs HSMAI Americas Marketing Advisory Board and received a 2025 HSMAI Top 25 Extraordinary Minds honor.
This appointment may signal a broader shift in hospitality management, where commercial, marketing, and technology roles increasingly overlap. Hotel staff, revenue teams, and marketing employees could see workflows change as AI-supported decisions become more common. Guests might experience more responsive pricing and promotions, though outcomes depend on implementation. The move could also influence how other lodging companies structure leadership and train workers for data-informed roles.
