Polygon adds TRON support to connect USDT payments with U.S. banking rails

Polygon Open Money Stack added TRON support on October 7, 2026, allowing businesses to link TRON’s USDT ecosystem with regulated U.S. payment infrastructure. The integration combines licensed fiat access, custodial wallets, and cross-chain routing, with Polygon Ramps providing fiat access in 48 states. TRON holds more than $94 billion in circulating USDT, and the stack aims to serve fintechs, remittance providers, and payment platforms.
Polygon Open Money Stack launched earlier in 2026 as an API layer for financial services. Its October 7, 2026 TRON addition lets companies connect bank funding with TRC-20 USDT. TRON’s dollar-token market includes more than $94 billion in outstanding USDT, over $30 trillion in lifetime transfers, and, according to TRONSCAN, above 15 billion transactions and $28 billion in locked value.
The package brings together regulated dollar services in 48 states, wallet custody, and routing across chains. Polygon’s payment activity passed $3 trillion by September 21, 2026. Coinme’s deal is pending; Sequence’s has completed.
The integration may make cross-border payments and payouts faster or simpler for fintechs, remittance firms, merchants, and recipients who use USDT. By linking TRON’s large stablecoin pool to U.S. banking access, it could reduce reliance on multiple vendors, though benefits depend on compliance, fees, and user trust. It may also raise questions about custody and dollar-token reliance.
