DC Introduces a New Hero Who Outsmarts Mr. Terrific

In The Deadman #5, Boston Brand visits a future without karma and encounters Amril Melville, known as Ms. Terrific. Amril is described as having a higher IQ than Michael Holt, the second Mr. Terrific, and she appears alongside Connor Hawke as Green Arrow. The character follows another recent Ms. Terrific, the Earth-23 Paula Holt from The Terrifics.
In The Deadman #5, Boston Brand travels to a karma-free future. There he meets Amril Melville, called Ms. Terrific, whose intellect exceeds Michael Holt's. She works with Connor Hawke, still Green Arrow. Amril is the second recent Ms. Terrific, after Earth-23's Paula Holt in The Terrifics. Unlike Paula, Amril has no family tie to Michael and employs T-Cubes.
Her appearance ends abruptly when birds burst from an enemy's mouth. The Deadman was extended from six to twelve issues, and issue #6 returns Boston to the present, where he faces a world without Heaven or Hell and Mr. M's Soul-Eaters. Michael Holt remains active in Justice League Unlimited, with a Year One series and a DCU film role.
The debut may prompt comics readers to debate how intelligence and legacy are portrayed, especially for fans of Mr. Terrific. It could also shape future DC storylines, merchandise, and casting conversations if Amril returns. Because her role is currently brief, any broader cultural impact may depend on whether she becomes a recurring figure. Audiences interested in non-powered heroes and legacy characters could be most affected.
