Encanto Stage Show to Debut on Disney Believe Cruise Ship
Disney Cruise Line's new ship, the Disney Believe, will host the first stage adaptation of Encanto. The ship is set to sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on December 18, 2027. The vessel will also include a new family dining experience inspired by the Frozen universe.
The announcement places Encanto within Disney Cruise Line's onboard entertainment offerings, marking the first stage adaptation of the film. It also links that theatrical debut to the Disney Believe, a new ship scheduled to depart Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on December 18, 2027. Alongside the show, the vessel will feature a family dining experience inspired by the Frozen universe, showing how Disney plans to combine multiple animated properties in one cruise setting.
The Encanto stage show could give existing fans a new way to encounter the story and may attract families considering the Disney Believe's 2027 sailing. It could also reinforce cruise lines' use of popular film franchises as onboard entertainment, potentially affecting performers, designers, and hospitality workers. For Fort Lauderdale, the ship's planned departure could bring modest tourism activity. Actual impact will depend on passenger demand, show quality, and how accessible the experience proves to be.
