Nahla Aubry Defends Halle Berry Against Abuse Claims in Court Filing

Halle Berry's 18-year-old daughter Nahla submitted a declaration in Los Angeles Superior Court denying allegations that Berry abused her 13-year-old son Maceo. The claims came from Berry's ex-husband Olivier Martinez, who obtained a temporary restraining order after alleging physical abuse. Nahla described Berry as a loving and devoted parent and said she never witnessed any abusive behavior toward Maceo.
Nahla Aubry, 18, submitted a court declaration in Los Angeles on Oct. 3. She is Berry's daughter with former partner Gabriel Aubry. In the filing, she disputed Olivier Martinez's allegations that Berry harmed Maceo, 13. She never saw Berry abuse Maceo and portrayed her as affectionate, encouraging, engaged, and occasionally firm.
Nahla said she lived with Maceo for most of his life and that Berry arranged the children's schedules after Berry and Martinez separated in 2015. She recalled Berry going to Maceo's games, transporting him to practices and tournaments, and backing his schooling, medical care, and therapy. Nahla also said Berry never criticized the children's fathers and encouraged those relationships.
This dispute may draw heightened attention to how abuse allegations surface in celebrity custody conflicts. Berry, Martinez, Maceo, and Nahla could face added public scrutiny, while fans and commentators may form views from court filings before all facts are weighed. The case may also affect broader conversations about family court, restraining orders, and the pressure on children when private conflicts become public. Observers could become more cautious about treating allegations or denials as settled.
