University of Hawaii debuts unified undergraduate application system

The University of Hawaii system has introduced ApplyHawaii, a single undergraduate application for all 10 campuses. The new application is available for fall 2027 applicants and replaces multiple previous application pathways and accounts. UH President Wendy Hensel said the change aims to reduce barriers to higher education.
The University of Hawaii now offers ApplyHawaii, one undergraduate admissions form covering its 10 campuses. It opens for fall 2027 applicants and consolidates several prior application routes and logins. It serves degree-seeking undergraduates, including first-year, transfer and returning students, plus Early College participants and eligible Hawaii public high school seniors in Direct2UH.
Applicants may use it for UH’s seven community colleges and three four-year universities. Before this, students might have faced up to four separate processes. Graduate programs and UH Manoa Outreach College keep their current systems. Officials describe the launch as part of wider efforts to simplify entry and transfer within the system.
The unified form may make college exploration less confusing for Hawaii students, especially those weighing multiple campuses or moving from community colleges. It could reduce administrative hurdles for prospective, transfer and returning applicants who might otherwise abandon applications. By simplifying access, UH may see broader applicant pools, though outcomes depend on advising, affordability and campus capacity. The change may also encourage smoother pathways from high school and community college into four-year programs.
