Chanel Debuts Peter Marino-Designed San Diego Boutique With California Indoor-Outdoor Feel

Chanel is opening a 16,000-square-foot boutique at Westfield University Town Center in San Diego, designed by longtime collaborator Peter Marino. The store unites fashion, watches and jewelry, and fragrance and beauty in a layout inspired by California's Case Study Houses, with a central courtyard and extensive glass. It becomes Chanel's fifth freestanding boutique in California, joining locations in Beverly Hills, Costa Mesa, San Francisco, and Palo Alto.

Chanel will unveil a two-level, 16,000-square-foot standalone store at Westfield University Town Center in San Diego on Thursday. Peter Marino, a frequent Chanel collaborator, drew on Southern California’s Case Study Houses, arranging rooms around an interior courtyard and using broad glazing and sliding doors to blur inside and outside.
The boutique consolidates fashion, watches and jewelry, and fragrance and beauty.
