ANL continues £10,000 backing for newstrade charity NewstrAid

Associated Newspapers Limited has renewed its £10,000 corporate sponsorship of NewstrAid. The publisher has backed the industry charity since 2022, helping it more than double the number of people it assists between 2022 and 2025. NewstrAid offers financial grants, emotional support and practical advice to people who work or have worked in UK newspaper and magazine sales and distribution.
Associated Newspapers Limited has committed another £10,000 to NewstrAid in October 2026. The publisher’s backing dates to 2022, and during 2022–2025 the charity expanded its caseload to more than twice as many newstrade workers and former workers.
NewstrAid, established in 1839, assists people connected to UK newspaper and magazine sales and distribution. Its support covers grants, emotional wellbeing, benefits and debt guidance, and practical help for individuals and families facing hardship. ANL circulation head Shaun Jones and NewstrAid chief executive Neil Jagger both welcomed the renewed partnership.
The renewed sponsorship may help NewstrAid sustain or broaden assistance for current and former newstrade workers and their families. For those facing financial or emotional difficulty, such support could reduce stress and provide practical stability. It may also signal the value of industry-backed charity at a time of economic pressure, though the scale of impact will depend on demand and the charity’s resources.
