Baird Slightly Increases Wayfair Price Target, Maintains Neutral View

Robert W. Baird moved its Wayfair price target to $117 from $116 and kept a neutral rating. The target suggests roughly 11.9% upside from the current share price. Wayfair topped quarterly EPS and revenue estimates, though it remained unprofitable on a net-margin basis.
Baird nudged Wayfair’s target up a dollar to $117 while keeping a neutral stance, a level that implied about 11.9% upside. Other recent calls were mixed: Rosenblatt began at buy with a $125 target, Bernstein repeated outperform, while Jefferies and Benchmark stayed hold; Zacks cut to hold. The consensus stood at Moderate Buy with a $120.93 average target.
Wayfair’s August 4 report showed $0.95 EPS against $0.90 expected and $3.52 billion revenue versus $3.47 billion expected, up 7.5% from a year earlier. Still, net margin was negative 2.49%, and return on equity was negative 3.40%. The stock recently opened at $104.59, with a 52-week range of $55.60 to $119.98.
Baird’s neutral view and modest target change may matter most to Wayfair shareholders and employees with equity-linked pay, as analyst ratings can sway short-term sentiment. The company’s continued net losses, despite better sales and EPS, could keep pressure on management to balance growth with cost discipline. Consumers shopping for furniture may see little immediate effect, though investor confidence in home-goods demand could influence how aggressively retailers and suppliers plan inventory, promotions, and hiring.
