Airbnb Distances Itself From Arizona PAC's Anti-Transgender Signs

Airbnb denounced an Arizona Republican super PAC's anti-transgender campaign signs that included its logo, saying it was not told about the ads in advance. The signs attack Democrat Aaron Lieberman over transgender sports participation and were paid for by the Arizona Senate Victory Fund. Airbnb donated $90,000 to the PAC, which under state law required donor logos on the signs.
The signs appeared in Arizona Legislative District 4, where Democrat Aaron Lieberman is challenging Republican state Sen. Carine Werner. The Arizona Senate Victory Fund financed them, and state rules require top donors to be listed on campaign materials. Airbnb gave the PAC $90,000 across 2025 and 2026, so its logo appeared on the signs.
A related website repeats the sign’s claim and cites HB 2706, a 2020 measure that would have limited athletic eligibility for transgender students. Lieberman voted against it; the bill passed the House but never became law. Werner, who took office in January 2025, presents herself as a practical conservative.
The dispute may draw more attention to how corporate donations appear alongside polarizing campaign messages, potentially affecting Airbnb’s reputation with customers and employees. It could also intensify scrutiny of donor-disclosure rules that place logos on political signs
