Gudea Raises $7M To Model How Online Narratives Spread

Gudea raised $7 million in seed funding co-led by Mudita Venture Partners and Silicon Road Ventures. The Minneapolis-based company, founded in 2023, maps how information moves across more than 600 social platforms to forecast when narratives will surge or fade. It reports 357% year-over-year revenue growth and serves customers in AI, telecommunications, entertainment, and retail.
Gudea, based in Minneapolis, has now raised roughly $15 million since launching in 2023. Its seed round was co-led by Mudita Venture Partners and Silicon Road Ventures. CEO Keith Presley says the company monitors over 600 social platforms and has posted 357% annual revenue growth, serving unnamed clients in AI, telecom, entertainment, and retail.
The company traces its roots to the George Washington Initiative, a nonprofit that adapted intelligence tactics once used against militant networks for messaging efforts inside the United States. CTO James Thomin built mapping technology after the team judged existing monitoring products inadequate. An analysis of the Bud Light controversy revealed repeating pathways, leading to a commercial shift toward corporate reputation protection.
Gudea’s forecasting tools could give brands and platforms earlier warning about reputational threats or manipulated campaigns, potentially reducing harm from false narratives. At the same time, such systems may raise privacy, surveillance, and power concerns if used to monitor communities or shape messaging. The people most affected could include social media users, corporate communications teams, investors, and marginalized groups whose conversations are analyzed. How the technology is governed may determine whether it mainly protects trust or amplifies asymmetric influence.
