Third Man to Reissue Loretta Lynn’s Van Lear Rose for Vinyl, CD, and Streaming

Third Man Records will reissue Loretta Lynn’s 2004 album Van Lear Rose on November 13 in vinyl and CD formats, and it will return to streaming after being unavailable there since 2021. The Jack White-produced record won two Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album, and helped mark Lynn’s comeback. The new edition adds the bonus track “Just to Have You Back,” which previously appeared only on a 2015 Third Man Vault release.
Third Man Records will bring Loretta Lynn’s 2004 album Van Lear Rose back on November 13 as vinyl and CD, while also restoring it to streaming after a 2021 removal. The record, produced by Jack White, earned two Grammys: Best Country Album and Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for “Portland Oregon.”
The reissue includes “Just to Have You Back,” a bonus song previously limited to Third Man’s 2015 Vault edition. Van Lear Rose followed a long solo recording gap for Lynn, whose prior solo album was 1988’s Who Was That Stranger; White encouraged her return from early retirement.
The reissue may let longtime fans and new listeners revisit Lynn’s late-career resurgence, while vinyl and CD buyers gain a physical edition with a previously scarce bonus song. Restoring the album to streaming could broaden access for younger audiences and researchers, and it may strengthen Lynn’s legacy within country and rock histories. Third Man’s involvement may also draw Jack White fans toward her catalog.
