LATAM Brazil Receives First E195-E2 as Fleet Renewal Begins

LATAM Airlines Brazil has taken delivery of its first Embraer E195-E2, with the aircraft due to enter service shortly. The carrier plans to receive 12 of the type by the end of 2026 and will initially deploy 14 E2s on 42 routes, including eight new routes and four new destinations. The expansion is intended to grow LATAM's domestic network and increase fleet flexibility.
LATAM Airlines Brazil has begun taking delivery of its first Embraer E195-E2. The plane should start flying soon. The carrier expects 12 examples by late 2026, part of a September 2025 plan covering as many as 74 aircraft of this model.
The initial 14 E2s are set for 42 routes, adding eight routes and four destinations: Cabo Frio, Ji-Paraná, Macaé, and Rondonópolis. Service with the type is planned from November 2026 through March 2027. LATAM is also studying up to 18 more destinations for 2027, when another 12 aircraft are due.
Travelers in Brazil could see more domestic options as LATAM adds routes and destinations. Residents of Cabo Frio, Ji-Paraná, Macaé, and Rondonópolis may gain easier connections to larger hubs, potentially supporting business and tourism. Smaller airports could benefit from added traffic, while competing carriers may adjust schedules or fares. The E195-E2’s flexibility may let LATAM match aircraft size to demand, though the social and environmental effects of extra flights remain uncertain.
