BSNL Introduces Vaani Enhancements, Security Tool, Messaging Service at IMC 2026

At IMC 2026, BSNL announced four efforts spanning customer support, network security, government messaging, and fibre infrastructure. Its Vaani service will gain location-based live network updates and voice-based complaint filing in Indian languages. BSNL also revealed an AI security tie-up with Saptang Labs, the Bharat Sandesh platform, and plans to explore an All-Photonics Network with Fujitsu Japan using its dark fibre.
At India Mobile Congress 2026 in New Delhi, BSNL presented four efforts spanning customer service, cybersecurity, public messaging, and optical infrastructure. The event took place on October 8 at Yashobhoomi, with Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Telecom Secretary Amit Agrawal present.
Vaani, BSNL’s existing chatbot, is set to detect a user’s location, show current network conditions, speak network information in chosen Indian languages, and accept spoken complaints. Separately, BSNL described an AI security collaboration with Saptang Labs, a two-way government-citizen platform called Bharat Sandesh hosted on domestically owned and controlled infrastructure, and an intended All-Photonics Network project with Fujitsu Japan using existing dark fibre.
These moves could affect BSNL subscribers, especially those using Indian languages or needing local network visibility, by making support more accessible. AI security may improve trust in network resilience, while Bharat Sandesh could change how citizens receive and send government information. The Fujitsu dark-fibre exploration may influence future broadband capacity, though outcomes depend on implementation.
