Vodafone Idea Previews Vinzy AI Assistant Inside Vi App

Vodafone Idea displayed Vinzy, a prototype AI assistant that works within the Vi app, at IMC 2026. After users provide requested information during setup, Vinzy can carry out tasks on their behalf. The company has not disclosed whether or when the feature will be released.
Vodafone Idea introduced Vinzy as a prototype at India Mobile Congress 2026, positioning it as an in-app AI helper for Vi customers. During onboarding, the assistant gathers user preferences and instructions, then can handle selected calls and routine commitments. One cited scenario involves delivery calls: if told to have packages left at the gate, Vinzy would relay that request to the courier.
Users may also personalize the assistant's name, such as calling it Raj, and the company says it is designed to support roughly 15 Indian languages if released. Vodafone Idea has not said whether or when Vinzy will move beyond demonstration stage.
If released, Vinzy could change how Vi subscribers handle routine calls, potentially reducing interruptions from delivery or service calls. Callers may interact with an automated agent instead of the customer, which could improve convenience but may also create confusion if instructions are misunderstood. Its multilingual design could make such assistance more accessible, though questions about consent, reliability, and data use may shape public acceptance. The impact would likely depend on rollout, safeguards, and user trust.
