Silent Hill: Townfall Patch Softens Late-Game Puzzle and Enemy Pressure

A new Silent Hill: Townfall patch has eased the Remote Systems Control puzzle that many players found too difficult. Update 1.4.0 adds an in-game manual for the console and changes the Weight enemy so it no longer instantly kills on Story or Normal difficulty. The enemy also spends less time near the objective and tracks players less aggressively.
Update 1.4.0 for Silent Hill: Townfall targets late-game friction. The Remote Systems Control console now includes a scannable manual, and players can consult it while using the terminal. This addition aims to clarify operation for those who struggled with the puzzle.
The Weight creature was also revised. On Story Mode and Normal difficulty, its grab no longer causes immediate death. It reportedly remains near the objective less, repeats searches in one area less often, and pursues the player with reduced intensity. Developer Screen Burn had previously indicated these endgame obstacles would be addressed.
This adjustment may affect players who abandoned or stalled near Townfall's conclusion, especially those choosing lower difficulty for narrative or accessibility reasons. By reducing instant failure and puzzle ambiguity, the patch could make the horror experience more approachable, potentially broadening completion rates and discussion around the game. It may also signal that developers are responsive to feedback, though the change could disappoint players who valued the original challenge.
