Toy Story 5 Leads Nielsen Streaming Rankings in Disney+ Debut

Nielsen's Sept. 21-27 streaming chart placed Toy Story 5 at No. 1 after its Disney+ debut, with 1.54 billion minutes viewed. Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story and Neagley also had strong weeks. Other titles in the rankings included Wonka's The Golden Ticket, A Different World, MobLand and Reacher.
Pixar's Toy Story 5 topped Nielsen's Sept. 21-27 streaming list after arriving on Disney+. Its 1.54 billion minutes equaled roughly 15.1 million views based on the film's 102-minute length. That ranks second among Disney+ movie weeks this year, trailing Zootopia 2's 1.72 billion minutes from March.
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story slipped 8 percent to 1.36 billion minutes, moving past Neagley, which fell about 30 percent to 1.25 billion. Netflix's Wonka's The Golden Ticket and A Different World entered the overall top 10, while MobLand returned and Reacher remained.
The strong debut could reinforce Disney+’s appeal to families and franchise fans, while Nielsen’s TV-only, U.S. measurement may shape how studios promote big titles. Competing services might respond with more event-style releases or library pushes. Viewers may benefit from increased attention to animated films and returning series, though the rankings reflect only one week and cannot capture mobile or computer viewing. This may influence programming and marketing decisions more than actual cultural impact.
