Hell’s Kitchen Tour Adds New Leads for Its Second Year

The North American tour of Hell’s Kitchen has announced new casting. Myia Ann Butler will play Ali and Emily Kristen Morris will play Jersey beginning October 13 in Toronto. Returning principal cast members include Roz White, Desmond Sean Ellington and JonAvery Worrell, with more tour cities to be announced.
The tour’s second year adds Butler as Ali, her national touring debut, and Morris as Jersey; Morris previously toured with Wicked and Something Rotten! They start October 13 in Toronto. Roz White, Desmond Sean Ellington and JonAvery Worrell return as Miss Liza Jane, Davis and Knuck. More North American cities will be announced.
The Alicia Keys musical is directed by Michael Grief, choreographed by Camille A. Brown and written by Kristoffer Diaz. Its creative group includes Robert Brill, Dede Ayite, Natasha Katz, Gareth Owen, Peter Nigrini, Mia Neal and Michael Clifton, while Tom Kitt, Adam Blackstone and Emily Orr shape the music. The story follows 17-year-old Ali’s search for freedom, passion and belonging through a mentor, family and neighborhood.
The second-year tour and fresh leads could renew interest among Alicia Keys fans and theatergoers, especially in Toronto and later host cities. Local venues, hospitality businesses and arts workers may benefit from increased attendance. For emerging performers, Butler’s national tour debut may offer visible proof that touring roles are attainable. The production’s continued travel could also influence how jukebox musicals are marketed to audiences beyond Broadway, though its actual social and economic effects will depend on ticket demand and regional reception.
