Google may remove Safety Signal from Pixel Watch 2 and 3

Code in the Pixel Watch app indicates Google may soon discontinue Safety Signal on Pixel Watch 2 and 3. The feature lets LTE watch owners contact emergency services without a mobile data plan in the US, Canada, UK, and Germany. Google has not said when it will end or whether a replacement will be offered.
The reported change concerns LTE versions of the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3. Safety Signal has let owners reach emergency services without a cellular data subscription in four markets: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Watches already connected to a data plan do not rely on it.
Android Authority reportedly found the warning inside version 5.1.0.990450614 of the Pixel Watch app. The code indicates the feature will soon disappear, though Google has not confirmed a date or said whether another tool will take its place.
If the feature is withdrawn, LTE Pixel Watch 2 and 3 owners in the four named countries who lack a data plan could lose a direct emergency-contact option. They may need to rely on a phone, add a plan, or seek other safety tools. The change may matter most to people who chose the watch partly for that capability, though Google could still announce a replacement or clarify timing.
