Barclays analyst Nik Cremo maintained an Overweight call on Strategy Inc. and moved the 12-month target from $160 to $175. The bank now classifies the company in US payments and fintech, grouping it with Visa and Mastercard instead of viewing it only as a Bitcoin proxy.
Strategy holds roughly 845,000 BTC. Its second-quarter revenue was about $122.4 million, up 7% year over year, while unrealized Bitcoin valuation changes influenced net losses. Barclays began coverage in July 2026 at $130, later cut to $125, then raised to $160 before the latest $175.
Barclays’ reclassification may influence how institutional and retail investors view Bitcoin-heavy companies, potentially affecting portfolio allocations and capital access. Strategy shareholders could face continued volatility tied to both fintech comparisons and Bitcoin price swings. Broader crypto markets may also react if analysts increasingly treat such firms as mainstream financial businesses, though the actual societal effect remains uncertain and depends on future regulation, market conditions, and investor behavior.
