Casio’s BABY-G+PLUS Watch Uses the Date to Change Its Face

Casio has introduced the BABY-G+PLUS BGA-20K, an analog watch whose two small dial windows form different expressions as the date advances. The removable case can be moved from the resin strap into an included ear-shaped holder, letting it serve as a bag charm or small desk clock. It is priced at about ¥12,100 (roughly $77), offers shock resistance, 10-bar water resistance, and roughly three years of battery life, and comes in three color combinations.
Casio’s BGA-20K is an analog model with three hands and a date window, not a digital display. Its two small dial windows shift shape as the calendar changes, producing emoticon-like looks. The resin case measures 43.5 by 42.4 by 11.5 mm and weighs 36 g, with mineral glass, shock resistance, and 10-bar water resistance.
The strap fits wrists from 125 to 180 mm. Casio rates battery life at about three years, accuracy within ±20 seconds monthly, and includes a low-battery alert. Three colorways launch in Japan in October 2026 at ¥12,100 including tax. Each includes the ear-shaped holder; metal straps are not recommended because they can damage its strap hole.
The BGA-20K may appeal to younger watch buyers, commuters, and bag-charm users who value novelty over smart features. Its dual wrist-and-charm format could encourage more playful, accessory-like timepieces, while its lack of fitness tracking or phone alerts may limit interest among users seeking connected devices. Because availability appears focused on Japan, international shoppers may need imports, which could affect price and access. Overall, its influence may remain niche, tied to fashion and collectible design rather than broad technological change.
