Hanwha to bid tracked howitzers for Army after wheeled win

Hanwha Defense USA intends to compete for the Army’s new tracked self-propelled howitzer effort after recently securing the wheeled variant program. A company executive said it may offer either the K9A1 or the more advanced K9A2. The Army issued a request for information on Sept. 30 for tracked howitzers and a resupply vehicle, following a $233 million award for six wheeled prototypes.
