XRP Ledger Nears Mainnet Rollout of Batch Feature and Fix

The XRP Ledger's long-delayed Batch update and fixBatchV1_2 patch are expected to go live on mainnet within hours. A critical signature-verification flaw discovered on February 19, 2026 delayed activation, and a later fix was included in XRPLD 3.4.1. The community adjusted its voting to deploy the Batch feature alongside the fix, supporting atomic multi-party settlements and other use cases.
The Batch proposal first drew scrutiny on 19 February 2026, when Cantina AI researchers found a signature-checking logic error while the feature was still being voted on. XRPLD 3.3.0 replaced that flawed implementation. By September 2026, the feature had enough support, but a temporary rejection reset the two-week activation window; a smaller problem was then addressed in XRPLD 3.4.1.
Voters later synchronized their choices so Batch and its fix could go live together. The feature is intended to help atomic multi-party settlements and other contract-based uses. Separately, Permission Delegation went live on 8 October 2026, expanding the ledger's capabilities.
If activated as expected, Batch could give developers and businesses a more reliable way to coordinate multi-party settlements, potentially reducing some operational friction and counterparty risk. Permission Delegation may also let users and institutions experiment with shared or delegated control. For ordinary holders, the main near-term effects may be indirect, through network activity, exchange flows, and price sentiment, especially as XRP trades near closely watched moving averages. These outcomes are uncertain and depend on adoption, security, and broader market conditions.
