Zelensky Asks US Lawmakers to Enforce Graham Sanctions, Boost Patriot Production

President Volodymyr Zelensky urged a bipartisan US congressional delegation in Kyiv to fully implement the Lindsey Graham sanctions law and accelerate joint Patriot interceptor production. The meeting took place as Russian drones threatened Kyiv. Meanwhile, Trump struck a diesel deal with Putin that could give Moscow new revenue for its invasion.
During the Kyiv meeting, an air-raid warning remained active because of jet-powered Shahed drones. The delegation included two Republican senators, one Democratic representative, and one Republican representative. Talks covered Ukraine's security, air-defense expansion, and economic pressure on Russia before winter.
Zelensky said Moscow is escalating attacks after failing to meet battlefield goals. Since early October, drone strikes damaged two Kyiv schools, plus bridges, energy sites, and other critical infrastructure. A former US ambassador argued the diesel arrangement would not reduce American prices and would weaken peace prospects.
The outcome may affect Ukrainian civilians facing winter strikes, as air defenses and sanctions enforcement could shape their safety. US lawmakers' decisions could influence Ukraine's ability to protect infrastructure. The diesel deal may give Moscow additional funds, potentially prolonging pressure on Ukrainian society, while American consumers might see limited price relief.
