YouTuber Loses Channel Over Censored Hellraiser: Revival Footage

A French YouTuber known as J0nathan says his channel was permanently removed after he posted censored gameplay from Hellraiser: Revival. YouTube cited its sex and nudity policy, saying explicit content intended for sexual gratification is prohibited. The video covered nudity with black boxes and was marked as not for kids, but the creator says the ban erased a decade of work and his main income.
J0nathan, a French creator with about 190,000 subscribers, posted footage from Hellraiser: Revival, released October 8, 2026. The game is a Saber Interactive action-horror title rated Mature 17+ for nudity, strong sexual content, violence, gore, language, and drug use. His upload obscured nudity with black boxes and was labeled not for children.
He said YouTube removed the channel under its sex-and-nudity rules. He appealed, but the first rejection came within minutes; he believes automated systems handled it. He noted uncensored versions of the same scene remained online, while his decade-old channel and primary income disappeared.
This case may affect independent creators who rely on platform income, especially those covering mature games. It could intensify concerns about inconsistent moderation and automated appeals, potentially pushing some creators to diversify platforms or alter coverage. Viewers may see less context around adult-themed games, while platforms may face pressure to clarify rules. Developers and publishers could also be drawn into disputes when coverage is removed.
