US Bitcoin ETFs post modest $21M inflow as Ether funds keep bleeding

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $21.13 million in net inflows on October 9, following $244.1 million in outflows the prior day. BlackRock's IBIT led with $22.38 million in inflows, while VanEck's HODL added $2.33 million and Fidelity's FBTC saw $3.58 million in withdrawals. Spot Ether ETFs posted $56.10 million in outflows, extending their losing streak to nine sessions.
Bitcoin funds returned to positive territory with $21.13M net inflow on Oct 9, reversing the prior day’s $244.1M outflow. IBIT alone contributed $22.38M, HODL added $2.33M, FBTC lost $3.58M, and other products were unchanged.
Ether ETFs lost $56.10M, their ninth straight outflow, with BlackRock’s ETHA a notable source. Over five sessions, Bitcoin ETFs saw about $679M net outflows, while since January 2024 cumulative inflows are near $57.11B and assets around $105.84B, roughly 6.38% of Bitcoin’s market cap.
The split between Bitcoin and Ether ETF flows could influence how everyday and institutional investors view crypto exposure through brokerage accounts. Continued Ether redemptions may dampen confidence in Ethereum-linked products, while Bitcoin’s modest rebound and IBIT’s concentration could shape sentiment among advisors and traders. Because these funds hold coins directly, sustained flows may also affect crypto market liquidity and price stability, though daily figures alone may not predict longer-term adoption or societal impact.
