Charlie Cox Addresses Daredevil: Born Again Ending After Season 3

Charlie Cox has shared his reaction to Daredevil: Born Again concluding with its third season. Speaking at New York Comic Con, he suggested the Save Daredevil campaign might need to start again. The final season will place Matt Murdock in prison and will include a Defenders reunion with Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones.
At New York Comic Con, Charlie Cox addressed the show's conclusion and joked that supporters might revive the "Save Daredevil" effort. The character had previously survived cancellation, later appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk before returning on Disney+ in 2025.
Season 3 will put Matt Murdock in prison after he revealed his identity to oppose Mayor Kingpin. Footage shown at the panel depicted him fashioning prison clothing into a mask and hand wraps while fighting inmates. Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones return as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. The season begins streaming in March 2027.
The conclusion may disappoint longtime fans who campaigned for the character's return, and could affect how streaming audiences view Marvel's serialized television strategy. Viewers invested in the Defenders characters may see this as a rare crossover payoff, while the cast's gratitude could strengthen fan goodwill. If the franchise later revives these heroes, the built-in audience might follow; if not, some subscribers could reconsider the value of committing to Marvel series.
