LG’s new RGB LED TV shines bright but falls short of OLED rivals

The Verge reviewed LG’s 75-inch Micro RGB evo MRGB95B, a $3,600 RGB LED TV. It delivers strong brightness and vivid colors, but the reviewer found out-of-box color errors and a highly reflective panel. The TV runs webOS and includes four HDMI 2.1 ports, though the reviewer says cheaper rivals handle some aspects better.
The MRGB95B is LG’s entry in the emerging RGB LED TV category, priced at $3,600 for the 75-inch model, the smallest of three sizes. It includes four HDMI 2.1 inputs, Dolby Vision support, and LG’s newer Magic Remote, and it runs webOS, which the reviewer found fast but less intuitive than some rival platforms.
RGB LED sets use separate red, green, and blue LED backlights rather than white or blue LEDs filtered through quantum dots. LG and Samsung call this “Micro RGB,” while other brands use “Mini RGB LED.” The review also noted LG has faced questions over TV security and audio recording, which the company denies.
Reviews like this could shape how early adopters and home-theater buyers compare RGB LED sets with OLED, especially at premium prices. Shoppers who care about reflections or out-of-box accuracy may hesitate, while those prioritizing brightness might still consider LG’s model. If rivals deliver better value, LG’s standing in premium TVs and its webOS ecosystem could feel pressure. Wider RGB LED adoption may depend on whether manufacturers reduce glare, blooming, and calibration issues.
