Abel and Tibi Launch a Natural Fragrance Collaboration

Natural fragrance brand Abel has partnered with New York fashion label Tibi on a new perfume. The scent was developed by perfumer Isaac Sinclair with notes of paper, vetiver, yerba mate, and timut pepper. It aims to capture Tibi’s philosophy of creative pragmatism, combining utility with inventiveness.
Abel, known for wholly natural compositions made via fermentation, worked with New York label Tibi on a scent priced at €180. Tibi creative director Amy Smilovic and Abel founder Francis Shoemaker shaped the brief, while perfumer Isaac Sinclair built the formula around paper and vetiver, adding yerba mate, timut pepper, and grapefruit.
Development took two years, without a strict deadline. Smilovic shared past perfumes she had worn to convey her tastes. The result is described as fresh and clean with a woody base, intended to reflect Tibi’s philosophy of pairing usefulness with inventiveness and to show that natural fragrance can be complex and modern.
