Meet the Actress Behind Carrie’s Miss Desjardin in Prime Video’s New Adaptation

Amber Midthunder portrays Miss Desjardin in Prime Video’s new Carrie series, which is run by Mike Flanagan. Midthunder’s prior TV work includes Legion, Roswell, New Mexico, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. She also led the 2022 Predator prequel Prey and appeared in films such as The Ice Road and Rez Ball.
Amber Midthunder takes on Miss Desjardin in Prime Video’s new “Carrie” series, overseen by Mike Flanagan. At 29, she is among the youngest performers to play the gym teacher in a “Carrie” adaptation. Her earlier television credits include FX’s “Legion,” where she played body-sharing mutant Kerry Loudermilk, plus “Roswell, New Mexico,” “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” and “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.”
Midthunder’s breakout came with 2022’s “Prey,” the “Predator” prequel, which earned her a Critics Choice nomination and a breakthrough honor. She has also appeared in “The Ice Road,” “Opus,” and “Rez Ball,” and is set to star in 2027’s “Painter.”
