Ranking Eight Anime Swordfighters Stronger Than Demon Slayer's Tanjiro
GameRant ranks eight anime sword users who could overcome Demon Slayer protagonist Tanjiro Kamado. The piece argues that while Tanjiro has grown into a formidable blade wielder, several other anime swordsmen still outclass him. It highlights Yoriichi Tsugikuni as the strongest swordsman in Demon Slayer and the originator of Sun Breathing.
GameRant ranks eight anime sword users above Tanjiro Kamado, despite his talent and dedication. In Demon Slayer, Yoriichi Tsugikuni is called the franchise’s greatest swordsman; he created Sun Breathing, the origin of other Breathing Styles, and once terrified the Demon King. Tanjiro accessed this power through Hinokami Kagura but never matched Yoriichi’s blade skill.
The list also names Asta from Black Clover, whose four demon-killing swords differ in shape and function, and Guts from Berserk, known for superhuman strength and colossal weapons like the Dragon Slayer. The article, by Haider Haroon Rasheed, was published October 10, 2026.
This ranking may spark fan debates among anime and streaming audiences, especially Demon Slayer, Black Clover, and Berserk viewers. It could drive engagement on aggregator pages, social media, and forums, as fans compare power scaling and favorite swordsmen. Such content may also introduce casual viewers to older or adjacent series, potentially influencing what titles they stream next. Its impact likely remains cultural and entertainment-focused rather than broad societal change.
