Screen Rant Ranks the 20 Greatest Fantasy TV Series
Screen Rant has compiled a ranking of the 20 greatest fantasy television shows, judging them partly by their lasting influence on the genre. The article notes that fantasy TV covers everything from supernatural thrillers to classic magical adventures, and that successful series often spawn imitators. Interview with the Vampire appears on the list.
Screen Rant's ranking, written by Angel Shaw, places Interview with the Vampire at No. 20 and The Witcher at No. 19. The list weighs fantasy series partly by their enduring impact, noting that successful hits often inspire later imitators.
Interview with the Vampire is an AMC series that began in 2022, adapting Anne Rice's 1976 horror novel in the gothic tradition and starring Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid. The Witcher, a Netflix show based on a lengthy book series, features Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra; it debuted strongly but later lost momentum amid controversy.
Rankings like this may shape viewers' watchlists and streaming choices, potentially drawing attention to listed shows such as Interview with the Vampire and The Witcher. Fans and creators could use it as a conversation starter about fantasy's evolution, while newcomers may discover older or ongoing series. Industry observers may treat it as a soft signal of cultural staying power, though such lists are subjective and their real-world influence remains limited.
