Blade Runner 2099 Trailer Unveils Missing Replicants and Lead Roles

Prime Video released a new Blade Runner 2099 trailer at New York Comic Con 2026, showing more about missing Replicants and the characters played by Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh. The limited series takes place 50 years after Blade Runner 2049, with Schafer as fugitive Cora and Yeoh as Olwen, a Replicant nearing death. It premieres November 25, with all eight episodes available at once.
The NYCC 2026 trailer expands on July's SDCC teaser. It notes that 28 Replicants—ten female, eighteen male—vanished over the past year. A cryptic male figure is said to know a cure that could apply to every Replicant. Schafer's Cora, a fugitive adopting a Blade Runner identity, partners with Yeoh's Olwen, a Replicant near death, to find a runaway whose secret threatens a rebuilt Los Angeles.
Set five decades after Blade Runner 2049 and eight decades after the original film, the Prime Video limited series will make its complete eight-episode run available on November 25, 2026. A new poster also debuted, and showrunner Silka Luisa gave an NYCC interview.
The trailer may intensify subscriber interest in Prime Video and boost discussion among Blade Runner fans, sci-fi viewers, and NYCC audiences. Its binge release could shape viewing habits, encouraging same-day consumption and social-media speculation. Casting Schafer and Yeoh may draw younger and broader audiences, while the Replicant mystery could fuel online theories. If successful, it may encourage more legacy sci-fi franchises to expand through limited streaming series.
