Lord Of The Rings Online's Wolves Of Mordor Expansion Gets New Trailer

A new trailer for The Lord of the Rings Online expansion The Wolves of Mordor introduces were-wolves as a new threat in Mordor and teases regions beyond Gorgoroth. The expansion is set to arrive near the end of October 2026.
The Lord of the Rings Online has been running since 2007 and remains free to play. Its upcoming Wolves of Mordor expansion launches October 21, 2026, with three purchase tiers: Standard at $39.99, Collector's at $79.99, and Ultimate at $129.99. Preorders are open now.
Beyond were-wolves, the update adds housing companions called Neighbours, who can bond with players through daily tasks and gifts. It also opens three previously hidden areas past Draugardh: Heledhris near Mount Doom, the jagged Parth Rhavas, and the forested Nan Ogol. Premium bundles include cosmetics, a hound pet, Neighbours access, and a level-up earring.
This expansion could draw lapsed and new players into a long-running free-to-play MMO, especially Tolkien fans and Halloween-season gamers. The were-wolf theme and hidden regions may spark renewed exploration and social activity, while Neighbours could encourage daily routines. Premium editions may influence spending among dedicated players, though the base game remains accessible. Its timing may briefly increase attention on older online worlds and licensed Middle-earth games.
