Bank Next renews Network International deal to upgrade payment infrastructure

Egypt's Bank Next has renewed its partnership with Network International to accelerate digital payment transformation and modernize its infrastructure. Under the agreement, the bank's ATM network and debit cards will move to Network International's integrated processing platform, aiming to improve operations, security controls, and customer experience. The bank said the move supports its expansion plans amid Egypt's accelerating digital banking shift.
Bank Next, described as an Egyptian bank serving individuals and companies, has extended its agreement with Network International, a digital payments provider active across the Middle East and Africa. The arrangement shifts the bank’s cash-machine network and direct-debit cards onto Network International’s combined processing system.
The bank expects this migration to refine operations, strengthen security controls, and improve customer experience. It also frames the deal as supporting expansion by retaining existing clients and attracting new segments, while Egypt’s banking sector undergoes rapid digital change encouraged by central bank efforts.
Egyptian bank customers, including ATM users and debit cardholders, may see smoother transactions and stronger security if the platform migration works as intended. Small businesses and new customer segments could benefit if expanded digital services reach them. The shift may also encourage greater reliance on electronic payments, though outcomes depend on implementation, access, and trust.
