Across seven days, tracked centralized exchanges saw a net decrease of 14,978.95 BTC. Binance accounted for 16,455.52 BTC leaving on balance, while the Coinbase Pro entry showed 4,034.39 BTC out. Bitfinex and Kraken moved opposite, adding 3,655.46 BTC and 1,253.88 BTC respectively.
The Coinbase Pro name is a legacy dataset entry; that service was merged into Advanced Trade in 2023. These metrics compare deposits against withdrawals, so they cannot show whether coins were sold, stored elsewhere, or shifted between venues. At $80,000 per BTC, the total outflow would be roughly $1.2 billion.
Large exchange outflows may affect traders, investors, and platforms by changing available liquidity and market sentiment. If coins are moving to self-custody, some holders could feel more control, while exchanges might see lower trading balances. The mixed flows at Bitfinex and Kraken suggest effects may vary by venue. Observers could interpret the data cautiously, since transfers do not confirm sales. Broader society may encounter these shifts through crypto prices, platform policies, and public debate over digital asset oversight.
