Niv Sultan Medical Thriller 'Heart of a Killer' Renewed for Season 2
The medical thriller 'Heart of a Killer,' led by Niv Sultan, has been picked up for a second season. Its first seven-episode run became one of the most-watched offerings on Israel's Hot platform after launching earlier this year. Federation International is launching worldwide sales for the first season at Mipcom.
The Israeli series “Heart of a Killer” has earned a second-season pickup. Niv Sultan, familiar from Apple TV’s “Tehran,” leads the show, which comes from Sipur and North Road.
Its initial seven-episode run launched earlier this year and ranked among the most-viewed titles on Israel’s Hot. Federation International, the sales division of Federation Studios, is introducing the first season to international buyers at Mipcom.
A second season could strengthen Hot’s subscriber retention and give Israeli scripted TV more visibility abroad. International buyers at Mipcom may see the show as a test case for medical thrillers with regional stars. Audiences who follow Niv Sultan’s work could gain another accessible title, while producers and distributors may benefit from renewed demand for non-English-language series. The extent of these effects remains uncertain and depends on reception and sales.
