ZDF Studios Notches International Sales for 'SOKO' and Other Titles at MIPCOM
ZDF Studios has sold the long-running German crime drama SOKO to 12 broadcasters this year, including Walter Presents, RTL Croatia, Talpa, and Canal+. The company said it has placed more than 500 hours of programming with buyers in over 20 territories in 2026. The latest SOKO season premiered on October 2.
At MIPCOM, ZDF Studios reported fresh international deals for its long-running German crime drama SOKO. Twelve broadcasters picked up the series this year, among them Walter Presents in the UK, RTL Croatia, Talpa in the Netherlands and Canal+.
The distributor also said it has placed more than 500 hours of programming with buyers across over 20 territories in 2026. SOKO, a staple of German public broadcaster ZDF, returned with a new season on October 2.
The sales could give viewers in more than 20 territories easier access to German-language crime drama, while broadcasters and streaming services may fill schedules with proven imported titles. That may support dubbing, subtitling and marketing work tied to these programs. It could also increase competition among non-English-language series for international slots, potentially influencing what local audiences discover and how much space remains for domestic productions.
